Last weekend saw the 465th Father’s Day (don’t quote me in that) come and go, but this time around it was different. Different because it was one that saw hope, dreams and a little bit of character brought to the town of Willunga. The inaugural Shifty Lizard Dad Olympics!
What a day it was too. To set the scene, the arena was created in our beer garden area and spilled out into the driveway where DJ shifty (AKA Lee Stone and the OG Shifty Lizard) was set up spinning the sickest tunes and fighting off the crazed fans all day!

Elliot (MC E.T.) was on the Mic and kept the day in control and running on schedule. We had 7 of our 8 finalists show up in amazing Dad attire and ready to throw their hours if not minutes of training at any challenge we sent their way! With one Dadlete clearly not up to the challenge and pulling a Shifty no show, we turned to the unsuspecting crowd and managed to drag out Ash (Dadlete #2.1)! And what a show Ash 2.1 put on. For a man who rocked up to sit back and watch a spectacle with a beer in hand, he turned it on and lead for a large part of the day!

Competition was fierce throughout the first 4 events with the Mclaren Vale Mitre 10 Tent tackle, The Ellis Butchers Meat Pack Squat, Gentleman’s Jerky Dad Jokes and Zonte’s Footstep Lawn Chair Can Toss leaving nothing but a few points between the field. All of the Dadletes came into the South Coast Fitness and Movement Dad Bod Flex with every chance to take it out.
But in the end Pieno (Dadlete #1) came out with a very controversial routine and manage to sway the judges ever so slightly his way to take out the overall prize with 355 points, ahead of Ash (Dadlete #2.1) on 333 points and Scuddsy (Dadlete #6) just missing out on second with 323 points!
The Dadletes shared in prizes valued over $1200.
